Background
Anja Käfer-Rohrbach has been Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the German Insurance Association, i.e. the Gesamtverband der Deutschen Versicherungswirtschaft e.V. (GDV) since 1 September 2021.

After graduating from secondary school, Anja Käfer-Rohrbach studied political sciences, international law and literature in Munich.

After a traineeship and two years as an editor, she took over the management of the office of a Member of Parliament (German Bundestag) in 2002. After her work at the Bundestag she became chief office administrator for the chief executive and member of the board of directors at the Association of German Banks. From 2008 until 2015 Anja Käfer-Rohrbach was Senior Public Affairs Manager at Commerzbank AG. In 2016, she became Head of Representative Office Berlin and Brussels at Postbank AG, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank Group. In 2019, Anja Käfer-Rohrbach was Head of Government and Public Affairs Private and Commercial Clients at Deutsche Bank AG before she went on to become Head of Global Governmental Affairs at Aareal Bank Group where she was responsible for global political and regulatory communication.

(DSH), member of the management board at Deutscher Verkehrsgerichtstag – Deutsche Akademie für Verkehrswissenschaft e.V., member of the supervisory board at the GDV Dienstleistungs-GmbH, member of the advisory board at EXTREMUS-Versicherungs-AG as well as a member oft he advisory board at Hamburger Gesellschaft zur Förderung des Versicherungswesens mbH.
