BGL Association Portrait 2023:
BGL is the leading association for road haulage, logistics and waste disposal in Germany, with its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. Since 1947, it is representing the professional interests of currently around 7,000 companies organized in its regional associations.
These companies are mainly active in the fields of road haulage, logistics, freight forwarding, warehousing and waste disposal.
Still under its former name BDF, BGL created the logo "fern-schnell-gut"(“long distance – fast – good”) as well as the "Brummi" mascot. It is co-founder of Kombiverkehr GmbH & Co. KG, Germany's largest operator in combined road/rail transport.
In close collaboration with its regional associations, BGL is representing its member companies’ interests both on the national and international level and in all important areas of industry policy. To this end, it maintains representative offices in Berlin and Brussels, and is a member of IRU (International Road Transport Union) in Geneva.
BGL is offering its member companies many economically attractive products and services with real added value via the “BGL-Vorteilswelt” (“world of benefits”). In addition, BGL member companies are entitled to use the "Brummi" as an advertising medium. Truck drivers receive exclusive benefits via the "Brummi-Card".
