Stefan Ziegert is working as Product Manager Alternative Fuels and Sustainable Transport Solutions at Scania Germany Austria since February 2017 and is now Driving the Shift Director. In this role, the Brunswick native supports customers who decide in favour of a Scania with a natural gas engine, among other things.
He was project manager for the overhead line project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, and was responsible for the market launch of new technologies, such as battery electric vehicles at Scania. He was also part of the advisory expert commission of the National Platform Future of Mobility of the Federal Ministry of Transport.
The 59-year-old graduate engineer studied mechanical engineering, specialising in vehicle construction in Braunschweig and Wolfsburg.
He began his career in 1996 at VW AG in Wolfsburg as Head of Sales to Federal Authorities. In 2001 he moved to Skoda in Mlada Boleslav (Czech Republic) as head of the key account business in Western Europe and overseas. In mid-2003, he moved to the DaimlerChrysler sales organisation in Berlin. There he held various management positions in sales and service.
In 2014, he moved to Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles GmbH as Senior Vice President for Sales and After Sales and as Managing Director of RMMV UK until the end of 2016.
Stefan Ziegert is married and has a son. In his spare time, he plays badminton, goes jogging or reads.
