Born in Munich in 1961, Michael Bargl studied industrial engineering and received his doctorate in 1993 on the subject of disposition systems in the transport industry. From 1987 to 1993 he was a consultant at Dornier System Consult in Friedrichshafen. He then moved into the field of logistics: he held various management positions at DPD's system headquarters in Aschaffenburg.
In 2000, Dr. Michael Bargl became Managing Director of the general cargo cooperation IDS Logistik with headquarters in Kleinostheim. Here he played a key role in shaping the cooperation principle in the general cargo sector, from the nationwide network expansion to the 24-hour service and private recipient delivery incl. online advice to the use of AI solutions and digitalisation of numerous processes.
