SPEDION GmbH, founded in March 2003, specializes in the efficient digitalization of business processes in the transport industry through high-performance telematics systems. Based in Krombach, Bavaria, Germany, the company develops innovative, user-friendly solutions with relatively low investment cost.
Its most successful in-house product is the SPEDION App, launched in 2011. This modular telematics software solution for Android devices is offered on a pay-per-use basis with no long-term contracts and can be tailored to each customer’s specific needs. The company then developed the SPEDIONline web portal, which gives transport companies a complete overview of their fleet, including detailed information on both vehicles and driver status.
In 2014, SPEDION expanded mobile access with the launch of the SPEDION Portal App, which provides a complete vehicle overview on Android or Apple iOS mobile devices – for fleet monitoring regardless of location.
To support drivers directly, SPEDION introduced the LUCY App in 2021. Designed as a straightforward information tool, it allows drivers to monitor key data – such as driving and rest times, along with route details – directly on their personal mobile devices.
Most recently, in 2023, SPEDION added another solution: SPEDION Navigation – a dedicated truck navigation system integrated into the SPEDION App. A feature powered by TomTom’s routing algorithms and their continuously updated online maps.
